Lambda Chapter is Recruiting Volunteers for the Board of Directors 2011 – 2013 term.

The Board of Directors of Lambda Chapter meets 4 times a year. Below are position descriptions of the officers. Any of the positions can be shared among 2 or more people if desired, and guidance from previous officers is available. Contact Janna Roop janna.roop@wayne.edu to volunteer or for more information.

President

  • Communicate   to the public the purposes of the society.
  • Explore   and identify opportunities for chapter recognition and ensure attainment.
  • Serve   on the program committee.
  • Prepare   an annual report to the chapter membership
Vice President

Doris Denison aj6209@wayne.edu

  • Acts as   President in President’s absence.
  • Plans   & coordinates annual business meeting. (Usually it is a dinner meeting   with CEUs.)
Secretary

  • Takes,   keeps, & distributes minutes of Board of Director meetings.
  • Manages   correspondence (thank you notes to guest speakers, etc.)
  • Collaborates   with chapter program & publicity chair to prepares & distribute   newsletters 1-2 times a year
Treasurer

  • Proposes   budget to Board of Directors
  • Pays   bills and reimbursements as needed
  • Manages   investments (within very limited choices set by International—no investment   expertise required)
  • Prepares   quarterly reports for BOD
  • Files   taxes (with assistant of paid accountant)
  • Prepares   annual reports for international office
Faculty Counselor
  • Maintains   communication with student body
  • Encourages   collaboration with Student Nurses’ Association
  • Solicits   ideas from students about activities for Lambda Chapter
  • Plans   fall “Welcome Table” and other outreach activities to students (Final exam   “survival bags” for example)
First Delegate
  • Attends   and represents chapter at Biennial Convention.
  • Represents   chapter in electronic voting as necessary between biennial conventions.
Second Delegate
Leadership Succession Chair
  • Recruits   candidates for Board of Directors and other leadership roles
Program & Publicity Chair (volunteer, not   elected)
  • Plans   & coordinates & publicizes programs for the Chapter
  • Maintains   website with assistance from paid administrative assistant and paid IT   support
  • Manages   listserv (with assist of paid administrative assistant)
  • Collaborates   with chapter secretary to prepares & distributes newsletters 1-2 times a   year

We are still seeking nominees for several open officer positions for the 2011-2013 term: Faculty Counselor, & Leadership Succession Chair. We are also seeking a volunteer to assist with this website. All positions can be shared between 2 people. See the Officers page for more details.
