Officers

Lambda Chapter is Recruiting Volunteers for the Board of Directors 2010 – 2012 term.

 The Board of Directors of Lambda Chapter meets 4 times a year. This is a DRAFT of the position descriptions of the officers. Any of the positions can be shared among 2 or more people if desired, and guidance from previous officers is available. Contact Janna Roop roop@wayne.edu for more information.

Office Description
President
  • Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Sets dates and times for Board of Directors’ (BOD) meetings.
  •  Receives & distributes communications from International Office.
  • Collaborates with Board to complete the work of the Chapter.
Vice President/

President Elect

  • Acts as President in President’s absence.
  • Plans & coordinates annual business meeting. (Usually it is a dinner meeting with CEUs.)

Comment: Eventually, I would like to see the VP become the next president for the Chapter

Secretary (2 people can share duties if desired)
  • Takes, keeps, & distributes minutes of BOD meetings.
  • Manages correspondence (thank you notes to guest speakers, etc.)
  • Collaborates with chapter program & publicity chair to prepares & distributes newsletters 1-2 times a year
Treasurer (2 people can share)
  • Proposes budget to Board of Directors
  • Pays bills and reimbursements as needed
  • Manages investments (within very limited choices set by International—no investment expertise required)
  • Prepares quarterly reports for BOD
  • Files taxes (with assistant of paid accountant)
  • Prepares annual reports for international office
Faculty Counselor/

Chair of Governance Committee

  • Assures compliance & updating of Chapter Bylaws
  • Plans annual induction
Leadership Succession Chair
  • Recruits candidates for Board of Directors and other leadership roles.
Student Liaison
  • Maintains communication with student body
  • Encourages collaboration with Student Nurses’ Association
  • Solicits ideas from students about activities for Lambda Chapter
  • Plans fall “Welcome Table” and other outreach activities to students (Final exam “survival bags” for example)
Program & Publicity Chair
  • Plans & coordinates & publicizes programs for the Chapter
  • Maintains website with assistance from paid administrative assistant and paid IT support
  • Manages listserv (with assist of  paid administrative assistant)
  • Collaborates with chapter secretary to prepares & distributes newsletters 1-2 times a year
